“This new economy isn't going to be built by Wall Street investors; it's going to be built by you, like every single, solitary era in our history,” said Vice President Joe Biden, addressing hundreds of UAW Local 2379 workers at the ABB Transformer Factory in Jefferson City, Mo.

Biden focused on renewable energy and the infrastructure behind it in his April 16 remarks. ABB’s 475 UAW members will build 100 electric transformers to supply Missouri's Lost Creek Ridge wind farm project, which begins in August.

Biden added that federal stimulus money was instrumental in funding Missouri wind farms and nationwide smart grid technology, to help spur economic growth in the state.
