Special Reuther Library exhibit celebrates UAW’s 75th anniversary

The Walter P. Reuther Library of Labor and Urban Affairs will unveil a special exhibit in June to commemorate the UAW’s history and celebrate the union’s 75 years of solidarity.

Mike Smith, the library’s director, said the 5,000-square-foot exhibit will feature a timeline of UAW history.

Located on the campus of Wayne State University in Detroit, the library – which is celebrating its 35th anniversary – is the largest labor archive in North America.

Its mission is to collect, preserve and provide access to the documentary and visual heritage of the American labor movement, related reform movements and individual participants.
