Marathon Man a Winner

What does a welder with 25 years of experience at General Dynamics and a proud member of UAW Local 1193 in Eynon, Pa., do for fun?

If you’re Tony Cerminaro, you run--better than anyone else in your age group. Tony started running at age 50 and has competed in 37 marathons to date. He currently competes in the Senior Master division for runners age 60-69. Tony has won over 20 times competing in his age group. He was victorious twice in the prestigious Boston Marathon.

He has broken a three-hour running time 33 times, a great feat for a 64-year-old running 26.2 miles. When asked what is the most difficult part of running a marathon Tony replied, “The training. It takes a lot of determination and hard work. If you’re going to run a marathon, you have to train.”

In his spare time Tony is a scholastic baseball, softball, basketball, and soccer official.
