Daniel Norris elected by IEB

Daniel E. Norris, president of UAW Local 1796 at Wayne County (Mich.) Community College, was elected a trustee of the International Union by the International Executive Board at a Feb. 9 meeting.

Norris joined the UAW in 1978 and has held numerous elected positions in Local 1796. He is a U.S. Army veteran and lives in Belleville, Mich., with his wife, Glenda.

The union’s board of trustees has three members charged with overseeing the union’s finances.

Norris joins trustees Tito Sanchez of Local 2244 in Freemont, Calif., and Mike Watier of Local 686 in Lockport, N.Y. They report to the IEB twice a year.
