Creative Revelations
Not all artists work in downtown lofts.
The UAW-DaimlerChrysler Artists at Work exhibition reminds us that many great artists work in factories, assembling automobiles, driving hi-los or operating machines.
“Artists at Work is a wonderful concept which demonstrates that we totally support creative workers within the UAW-DaimlerChrysler family,” said UAW Vice President Nate Gooden, who directs the union’s DaimlerChrysler Department.
This is the third time the UAW-DaimlerChrysler National Training Center (NTC) has sponsored the employee art contest. Since its inception, Artists at Work has showcased the creations of 167 hourly and salary employees.
The ceramics, paintings, sculptures, photography and other works of 45 UAW members from 22 DaimlerChrysler locals will be on display for the next year at the NTC, 2211 E. Jefferson Ave. in Detroit, or it can be viewed at www.uaw-daimlerchryslerntc.org.
