UAW retiree bags 450-pound elk

Beverly Cornel, a retiree from Local 362 in Flint, Mich., proved a sure shot when she bagged an Elk while hunting with her son and grandson.

A bow-and-arrow and gun hunter for more than 47 years, Bev has hunted deer and small game in Northern Michigan, and this year she finally received her elk permit after 14 years of applying.

Cornel, the financial secretary of the Alcona Oscoda Satellite of Michigan Lower Peninsula Retired Workers Council, made the most of it as she shot the 5-year-old 450-pound cow earlier this year.
