Retiree helps physically and mentally challenged kids fish

Patrick Ventimiglia and his friends helped more than 600 physically and mentally challenged children participate in a fishing derby earlier this year.

Ventimiglia, of Local 155 in Warren, Mich., and others donated the use of their boats, supplied pizza, pop, burgers, and ice cream at their own expense, as well as their time to make this day “alluring” for the kids.

Those lucky enough to have a fish flop on the deck of their boat received a plaque and had their picture taken.
