The service of our veterans always leaves UAW Local 1975 members with a warm feeling.

They figured they could give that feeling right back by giving lap robes to veterans at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich. Members of Local 1975, which represents the clerical unit at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Mich., either made or purchased the lap robes, then presented them to Sandy Jacobs, from the hospital’s Volunteer Services Department.

Two efforts for lap robes, led by Mary Moos, the local’s Veterans Committee chair, were held this year. The local also donated money to the Michigan Military Moms to use for postage to mail items to our troops overseas.
