Labor
Day is a celebration of workers'
economic and social contributions and achievements. On this day
we pay tribute to the men and women who, often at great personal
sacrifice, have joined together to form unions to improve the quality
of life in their workplaces and their communities. Our labor and
our labor unions have made the United States and Canada prosperous,
strong and free nations.
Many UAW locals are participating in parades and other Labor Day
events. We hope you will join in the fun. As UAW Local 155 member
James Abbott Jr., says, "It's time to show the world what solidarity
forever really means."
We're proud to share with you some of the Labor
Day celebrations taking place across the United States and Canada.
We wish all workers a happy and safe Labor Day!
