The Walter P. Reuther Library of Labor and Urban Affairs will unveil a special exhibit in June to commemorate the UAW’s history and celebrate the union’s 75 years of solidarity.
The 5,000-square-foot exhibit will feature a timeline of UAW history.
Located on the campus of Wayne State University in Detroit, the library– which is celebrating its 35th anniversary – is the largest labor archive in North America.
Its mission is to collect, preserve and provide access to the documentary and visual heritage of the American labor movement, related reform movements and individual participants.
Tours to the library will run in conjunction with those of Solidarity House, the UAW headquarters. Solidarity/Reuther Library tours will be available on Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Buses will then depart every 15 to 20 minutes with the last departure leaving Cobo at 4 p.m.
