National civil rights and labor groups announce next phase of attack against Alabama anti-immigrant law

WASHINGTON -- Alabama's social and economic crisis continues after the state Legislature worsened what was already the worst racial profiling law in the nation, HB 56. As the law currently stands, immigrant families, along with educators, farmers, small business owners and churchgoers across the state, will continue to suffer.

On a call with reporters on Thursday, May 31, at 12:00 pm ET, national civil and labor rights leaders will announce next steps in the ongoing battle for justice in Alabama, including plans to fight HB 56 and recent tweaks to the law through the court system, by escalating pressure on top companies operating in Alabama, and through international tribunals.
