A statewide "Nuns on the Bus" tour (above) was cheered on in city after city as supporters of Michigan's Proposal 2 gathered for rallies in Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Flint and Detroit. Speakers composed of nurses, firefighters, auto workers and various politicians addressed the crowd about the benefits of Proposal 2 which would be added to the constitution to assure the collective bargaining rights of workers. "Nuns on the Bus" was organized, in part, by Protect Working Families and the Catholic social justice organization NETWORK, led by Sister Simone Campbell.
