UAW members belong to over 800 local unions across the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.

They get support around organizing new members, community activities, bargaining contracts, handling problems with employers, education, political action, social activities, etc. from both the national UAW offices and centers and each of 11 regional offices. National UAW Local Unions

UAW Local 1981 The National Writers Union (NWU) is the only labor union that represents freelance writers in all genres, formats and media. With 3,500 members in 17 local chapters nationwide, the NWU works to advance the economic and working conditions of writers by challenging corporate media giants, lobbying Congress to pass legislation that protects the rights of writers, creating viable solutions to provide publishers fair alternatives to unfair practices and educating and empowering its members.

UAW Local 2320 The National Organization of Legal Services Workers (NOLSW) represents most people who work in federally funded legal services programs across the U.S., as well as workers in other types of law offices and various human services programs.


National UAW-Company Training Centers

UAW-DaimlerChrysler National Training Center This site introduces visitors to the wide range of jointly run training and other education, child care and wellness programs negotiated by the UAW with DaimlerChrysler. While you're visiting, be sure to check out the UAW-DaimlerChrysler LearnNTC and PEL (Paid Education Leave) web sites.

UAW-Ford National Programs Center This site provides information on educational opportunities, employee support programs and other jointly developed initiatives for UAW Ford workers, retirees and family members. The useful "Links" and "Visitor Information" sections help training participants plan their trips to the Detroit facility. The Center's quarterly publication, Sharing Our Pride, is also available to read online.

UAW-GM Center for Human Resources Showcasing the numerous programs and services available to UAW General Motors workers and family members, this site provides a handy list of current course offerings as well as Health and Safety class descriptions and schedules. A directory of UAW-GM Employee Assistance Professionals and Child Care consultants is also included.
